MOFI eServices
The Ministry’s objective is to use the latest technology in the ministry to ensure the ease of work; better performance and flexibility of the systems and services provided by the Ministry to all customers and public as well as to increases the efficiency and the performance of the work.
1. Sites Development:
MOFI recognised the importance of developing web site for
each UAE ministry and federal government authority, to promote its
information and services
locally and internationally. Information Systems
Department in the Ministry of Finance and Industry is responsible for
designing, developing, testing, and hosting all the sites, as well as

2. Electronic Mail:
Electronic mails is one of the most popular and important service offered by the Ministry of Finance and Industry. It provides the email service to all the ministries and federal government authorities to reduce the use of official papers and faxes which result in reducing and minimizing the required time and effort to complete a task or a process. Based on the latest report done by the ministry on June 2002, there are 600 employees had an email accounts in the different ministries.
3. Financial Applications:
Ministry of Finance & Industry is providing a central Financial System to all other ministries and federal government authorities through the WAN using NCR UNIX Platform. The ministry will be implement the new Financial System by the end of 2003, which aim to provide quality services and process to other ministries and fill their requirements in a secure and efficient network.
4. Edirham:
The eDirham is a Payment Tool devised by the Ministry of Finance & Industry in order to facilitate collection of Revenues, providing the Government with a Secure Payment Method, and providing the public with a convenient payment tool. 5. e-Services:
Since the UAE government is moving toward implementing the eGovernment project, Ministry of Finance & Industry started to offer online services to its customers and the public through the new electronic services which are eProcurement and eSinaee, where the customer has to register, select the service and apply, fill the forms, upload the documents and pay online using the eDirham card and finally receive the services.
