Ministry of Environment & Water  has paid special attention for establishing and determining level of health securities required for importing pet animals .

  A federal law number (6) of the year 1979 concerning the veterinary quarantine in order to organize the veterinary quarantine work which by turn protects the animal wealth and citizens from epidemic diseases and zoonosis.The ministry issued a decree stating not to allow entry of any pet animals into the country unless they obtain a prior Import Permit from Ministry of Environment & Water.

  Therefore the Ministry of Environment & Water has laid down a general mechanism for importing pet animals. The aim is to ensure the sanitary safety of international trade in pet animals and to avoid the transfer of disease agents pathogenic for animals or humans.

  The Animal Wealth Department of Ministry of Environment & Water for this purpose of facilitating and easing has developed this service.

  As a general rule, the ministry advices all the importers to contact the officers of the Animal Wealth Department or any veteranian on duty of the veterinary quarantine centers for consultation or for demanding assistance about any problem relating this service.
